Silence transom slap once and for all Modern reverse transoms sail great, and provide huge aft cabins... but even the smallest wave slapping under the transom will drive you nuts! If you have a reverse transom boat, you don't need to be told.
The Slap Silencer is a smart, simple, and innovative product that virtually eliminates the noise.
Installation couldn't be easier. You just center the rudder, then drop the Silencer off the stern. Using the built-in tie lines, draw the Silencer forward until it slides between the rudder blade and the hull. That's it! The nylon mesh is easy on your topsides, and the closed-cell foam padding deadens the slap.
The Silencer was designed by Jeff Anderson, who owns a Passage 42. So he knows slap all too well, but in this case, had the tools to do something about it.
The Slap Silencer has been tested in action with a decibel meter, at anchor in sheltered water, with a slight chop in an 11 knot breeze. The results are amazing. Slap reached peaks of 75 decibels, while the Slap Silencer held at a steady 16-18 decibels.
Equally impressive are the comments from owners:
"It should be offered as standard equipment on all new boats."Alex Minassian, Hunter Passage 42
"The Slap Silencer really makes a difference."Walter and Corrine Shultz, Catalina 320
"We were amazed at the quietness...The Slap Silencer works as advertised. "Michael O'Reilly, Cal 28
